Less Is More: The Brilliance of Wordle
In a world of doomscrolling and screen addiction, this simple word puzzle game is a breath of fresh air
In our modern connected society, there are moments where people are brought together and the stars align to make an idea work. There have been countless people that achieved 15 minutes of fame due to a video or photo that went viral thanks to social media algorithms. A recent example of this is Wordle, a simple web-based puzzle game that was recently acquired by the New York Times. The game has caught the internet by storm with many people sharing their daily results to their family and friends on Facebook and Twitter. The genius of Wordle, however, lies in what the game is not as opposed to what the game is.
So, What is Wordle Anyway?
The premise of Wordle is incredibly simple: it is a daily puzzle game where players have six chances to guess a five-letter word that changes daily. With each guess, the game will gray out any incorrect letters, put a green box around letters that are in the right place, and a yellow box around letters that are in the word but in the wrong place.
