Saying goodbye to Frank Ntilikina, a most polarizing Knick

The last twenty years of being a Knick fan have not been easy. There have been a lot of misfires by the front office and signings that just didn’t make much sense. These issues also extended to the players that the team has drafted. Everyone that came in was supposed to be the savior, the player that would help New York see some success at the Garden again. And yet no Knicks rookie since Charlie Ward has seen a second contract from the team to stay in New York.

A new name was added to that list this summer: Frank Ntilikina. While all indications are that RJ Barrett will be the player to end this streak, there is a different conversation to be had regarding the timeline of Frank. In some ways, he feels like destiny unfulfilled but also a reminder of the colossal failure that was the Phil Jackson era in New York. Frank brought a lot to the table that Knicks fans cherish but also some things that they despise. He at times felt very New York but at others very international. Now that his time in blue and orange has passed and he attempts to revive his career in Dallas with his old teammate Kristaps Porzingis, there is no time better than now to think about his tenure as a Knick.
