5G Home Internet: Giving Apartment Residents a Choice
Bringing more competition to an industry in desperate need of a shakeup
A few months ago, I moved into a new apartment. When moving into a new place there is a ton of setup involved outside of the actual moving portion of the equation. Setting up utilities, change of address forms, mail forwarding, and so on. But one of the more annoying aspects of living in a new apartment is the way that choosing an internet provider is handled.
In my case, I had the choice between WOW and Xfinity. I ended up choosing WOW because they had a better promotion with a price locked in for a longer time. All was well until a few weeks ago when I received a letter from them letting me know that they were no longer servicing my apartment complex. Anyone that has lived in an apartment complex before knows that this is not new, as property management companies strike exclusivity deals with certain ISPs. But instead of just accepting a predefined choice, I shopped around and found that 5G Home Internet solutions were an option. And having used one such solution from T-Mobile, I am convinced that this is the way forward for anyone that is living in an apartment.
